Sproutworld pencil with an inspiring message for nature. This sharpened point pencil is made from wood. Attached to the end of the pencil is a capsule (made from cellulose) which contains seeds. Once the pencil has become too small to use, plant the pencil along with the capsule into some soil. After 2-3 weeks, the seeds germinate and grow into beautiful flowers, fragrant herbs or vegetables. Choose from various types. The name of the chosen plant will be engraved onto the pencil. The pencil contains no lead and is therefore completely safe. Made in Europe. A Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of this product is available in the downloads. Sproutworld is B Corp certified; the collection is produced according to the highest achievable ecological and social B Corp standards.
Product certifications
This product carries no product certification, but its manufacturing site is SMETA audited. Its brand is a certified B Corporation (company certification verified by B Lab, score: 105.6). The pencil is planted at the end of its life: its capsule releases seeds, and it is made in Poland, within the European Union. The brand states that it uses wood from FSC or PEFC certified forests; we have not verified that last point with any certifying body.
